Windscreen not washing
Hello,
on my 2005 S60 2.4 D5 136 kW, when I pull the windscreen wiper stalk, all I can hear is a click roughly from somewhere behind the gauge cluster, but the wiper motor does not make a sound and nothing comes out of the nozzles.
What should I check for, a faulty fuse, or is the motor most likely dead?
Any help would be much appreciated.

Not sure if you are having issues with the wipers or the washer pump.
First question is, do the wipers work? if the wipers work but nothing comes out of the nozzles then see if you can hear the wiper fluid pump turn on (it sits near the bottom of the fluid reservoir). If you can hear the pump come on, trace the hose from the pump up to the inner fender and then to the hood. Look to see if the fluid is leaking out - it may be that the hose came off the t-connector that splits to the two nozzles. If you don't hear the pump come on, then you need to see if the pump is getting voltage.
If the wipers don't work then you should check the fuse and then see if the wiper motor is getting voltage. You need to do some tests to determine if the issue is with the multi-function stalk, the wiring, the fuse or the motor.

The wipers are working with no issues, it's just the washer function that is KO. Fortunately, an aftermarket water pump (FEBI) is not very expensive so I ordered one just to be on the safe side - if it's something else that's faulty, I can return the part.

Hello again, just for this to get some closure - it was indeed the pump that was faulty. Just a side note - installing it is a major pain in the ***, pushing it all the way through the seal on the reservoir was really tough to do.
UPDATE: The reason why it was so difficult was thst I overlooked that the new pump came with its own seal already on it, so in effect ai was trying to push a pump with a seal into another seal on the reservoir. Silly me 😂
