HI I was looking into a 98 s70 today I took it for a test drive the tranny shifted well but for some odd reason the engine wouldnt go over 4500 or so rpm and therefore wouldnt shift into 4th gear ??? weirdest thing. I can get the car for 1000, it just had the timing done and has newish tires it will probably need the some work the the pick up was pretty sluggish, and the shock might need to be replaced whats your opinion should I go for it ?? any info on the rpm issue also the abs light is on otherwise the car drove nicely.

Volvo OEM plugs, distributor cap, rotor, plug wires, and air filter will only set you back about $150 from FCP Groton and the work is pretty easy to do yourself..

The rpm issue sounds kind of like a plugged cat, a friends Corrado VR6 had a similar thing.
His car is manual, so not quite the same, not sure if it was auto that it would shift up or not, and it was a VW not a Volvo, so ya know.
Just a thought.
