Long Crank
Did you ever fix the problem with the long crank? If so what was it?
I have a 99 volvo s70 T5 m and it constanly gave me a P0014 code after my timing belt was done along with a new clutch. It turns out it was off 2 teeth on the exhaust cam. But then it came back so then i brought it to a dealership and they had it for two straight days and couldnt figure out the long crank. They did remove the CE light, which i had done with my scanner many times. THey said the exhaust cam was off a couple teeth, but i thought my mechanic had just fixed that.. i watched him do it.
No more CE light.. and i got inspected.. but it still cranks and cranks. Sometimes it takes over 30 secs to start. While doing so the rpm's jump irradically sometimes. and i can pop start it no prob. Once its running its mint.. no prob at all.
So far ive done alllll the general maintenence and also the camshaft position sensor because i thought it would solve it ..P0014. But when i replaced it for about 180.. it was hidden under the upper mount.. it gave me a code camshaft position actuator.. prob the cvvt solenoid that ou cleaned. I am now at a loss and dont know how to solve this horrible prob. If the dealership couldn't figure it out what am i supposed to do .. their the DEALERSHIP.
As of last night i saw your battery post and went to check mine. supposedly the 2.4 s70 glt needs 600 CCA while 2.3 T5 needs 700 CCA. So i checked my battery and it only has 590 CCA and i dont know how old it is, but it looks descently new. I didnt have this cranking issue in the summer and since its mid winter maybe this could be it . My fingers are crossed. If you have any info or suggestions please do not hesitate to tell me. Any questions feel free to ask. Any help would truly be appreciated.
Thanks, Tom
