1999 Volvo s70 Turbo AWD - Rear Shock Replacement
I have a 1999 volvo s70 turbo AWD. I was working on my suspension and ran into a problem with the rear shock absorbers. The model on the car was a Sochs/Bohe 9492049. I went to PepBoys and they told me the Monroe Sensatrac 5975 was compatable. When i went to put it the monroe on, i noticed it was different, there was a bar pin missing on the bottom of the shock absorber. The orginial sach/boge had it built on the shock absorber. Without the bar I cant put it on. So the monroe was circular ring with no bar pin and the original sachs/boge does.
Please help. Any advice is appreciated.
Where can i find a compatable monroe shock or other after market brand? I prefer to not go to the dealer.
Is there an adpater i can use for the monroe's?

Someone correct me if I am wrong, but I think they sold you a shock for a FWD Volvo. The AWD requires different shocks. Try this:

If you don't mind me asking, how much were the monroes at PepBoys?

I also looking for monroe shocks or that particular model. If you have found one that would be good news. I heard that there are compatible ones but i'd prefer an oem that would really fit.
