Default 2000 S70 GLT/SE Transmission Strange Behavior

Hello

Last Few Weeks I experience weired Behavior with my car's Transmission:

After Driving 10-15 miles after Car becomes completely warm in City Cycle, I experience Folowing Problem:

During Starting the car on 1800-2300 Rmps when shifting from 1st to 2nd (and only from 1st to 2nd) gear i notice a continuous vibration for about 1-1.5 seconds and after that the gear is being changed.

if I start the car on less RPMS (linke 1500-1600) the shifting is normal and the same when starting on Hight RPMS (from 2500 - 3000)

I also noticed that when the car is newly warmed up same behavior is not happening.


First Thing I did, I Completly flushed the Transmission fluid - the fluid was completely clean and it had a very light smell of burn. Apparenltly it is normal after 20k miles of driving. Flushing did not help.

so I think may be tranny is not the case

Also it is strange for me that there are no any CEL or other lights appearing on dashbord. I did a diagnostics with VIDA and it did not find any kind of damage or problems.

Do you have Any ideas, what would be the problem ?

The car is well maintained with 151K miles on it

Any idea how old the mounts are? The CV axles?

If you mean Motor Mounts, They have been never changed and when inspecting visually they are good.

CV Axles also come from factory

Looks like you have the same problem as me. I flush the fluid and idnt change anything. I also dont have any CEL or other lights lid up, which there could be a code if i hook it up to a pro scanner. I only drive it in the city, but if i get the freeway, one i hit 65+ it feels like i need another gear since the RPMs are at about 3k. I might just take it to a profesional transmission shop. Might be the torque converter since the tranny shifts smooth.

My guess is torque converter. I just had this happen and needed to put in a new tranny. My eventually got stuck in lock-up and would stall in anything except park and neutral...
