2000 S70 won't start
Need some help. We have a 2000 S70 nat aspirated. I have VADIS. It died while cruising on the Interstate. After towing home my son replaced the crank sensor, because it had crank sensor codes. Still will not start. Next he did the immobilizer antenna, same thing. Then the battery dies, so we now have no codes. So tonight I get involved. Here is what I see.
Car cranks, may fire a cyl once, initially, but never runs.
Fuel pressure 55psi while cranking.
Spraying starting fluid in the intake while cranking makes no difference.
Timing belt looks fine, replaced about 5000 miles ago.
Pulled a plug and it is wet.
I put my spark indicator on 3 different cyls, and I see that I get one spark when first starting to crank but no more, as you continue to crank.
So I check the 2 wires at the plug for the new crank sensor with key in II - no voltage on either. And I can't find in VADIS if that is right or wrong.
So now I am wondering if the cam sensor may be the issue. I searched through VADIS for an hour, but I cannot find a description of how this ECM decides when to fire the coils during startup, but it appears they all fire one time and not again until you turn the key off/on. I actually have a 99 V70 which has the same cam sensor, so I am considering swapping that one into the S70. Thoughts and advice are needed, and if there is a description in VADIS about how the ECM logic works, I'd love to know how to find it.
