I was wondering if anyone could shed some light on a feasibility question of swapping an engine from a 96 850 to a 99 S70 that had just blown its engine. It is either try and swap the motors or just do an engine overhaul on the S70.

 

Firstly: Post this in either the S70 thread or the 850 thread, faster answers.

Secondly:No, it probably won't work, the engines are too different, in 99 they went to drive by wire, which is different than the 850 and 98 S70. Do an engine overhaul, but even that done right will be very expensive.
