Angry 98 S70 Terrible Electrical Issues

I have an issue with the instrument lighting blowing a fuse constantly, and it effects the climate control, (not working). At first, I thought this was a rain issue, but two days of no rain has pretty much ruled that out. How are these two completely separate things related? Also, the fuse doesn't blow instantly, it seems that there is a relay cycling on and drawing from somewhere it is not supposed to. When I disconnect the dimmer, the fuse still blows. I'm losing my patience and running out of fuses! Any info would be greatly appreciated.

If you unplug the climate module does it still blow the fuse?

Question

I can't even begin to guess how to get the dash apart to unhook it directly and the birds nest of wires underneath the dash is not easily dissolved by the wiring diagrams. The PDF I have is all out of order and filled with holes. I know that there is a connector under the dash somewhere that will disconnect the climate control but what else is it connected to? And if it is the climate control module, how do I get it out, winter is coming and i'll be needing the defroster soon, never mind the heat.

If you have the ECC module (Temp in numbers) the module will just pop out. Easiest way is to slide the radio out and reach in and push the climate module from the back.

If you have MCC (temp in colors only) then you have to remove the temp control ***** then there is screws under the ***** then it will slide out.

I popped the module out just like you said and put in a new fuse and the fuse didn't blow. While I was waiting to see if it would, I took the module apart and studied the inner workings. I noticed that a few of the bulbs that illuminate the panel looked bad, so I twisted them out and plugged the bare boards back in. The fuse didn't blow and I was just a little upset. I proceeded to put the bulbs in one by one with no popping fuse. Its been three weeks now and no more problems. I guess taking out the panel exorcised the electrical ghost. But what I did notice was that the 25 amp climate control fuse had a small crack in it. I replaced that just before I tested everything. Whatever it was, the help from Tech was completely indispensable. Thank you so much for your help with this issue.
