Default Amsoil

I have 7qts+ of AMSOIL 10W30 left from my previous car (new) never got to changing it before it died...now I have my S70 and I know that's the right weight. I am wondering, AMSOIL doesn't have EA filters for my car but they recommend WIX...I remember reading about getting a filter with an anti-return Valve..MANN which makes Volvo...but all I see are cartridges OR a Wix with an Anti-Return valve (WL7124) which is a canister type (not a cartridge)...what should I use?

Also, is this what I've been hearing about? Preferable?

Wix makes a good filter. Not sure if that Mann issue applies to the 2000 models.

Whatever you do, don't get a Mobile 1 filter.

I destroyed the oil filter cap trying to get it on and then off when I couldn't get it tight. The prior oil change it went to a shop for the oil change. They put it on so tight I couldn't get it off and had to break it. I bought a new cap. Could not get it to spin on past the O-ring. Bought another cap. Same problem. Bought another filter, end of problem with the same cap.

The Mobile 1 filter uses a rubber lip to seal it top and bottom. They come off, but I didn't trust it at that point.

Mobil 1 oil is crap, I wouldn't use their filters either. So the wix canister is ok? I ask this because I notice everything else is a cartridge. Also, how do you think this would hold up with AMSOIL over a 6 month to year period? Obviously my first change isn't a year, you have to do 3 consecutive to be safe to use it for one year...but I used to use their AMSOIL EA filters, which they don't have for this car.

As far as I know you can only use the cartridge. Really, why would you not use the original cap? Wix makes a cartidge to fit.
