I replaced the radio antena to get rid of the groaning noise when it went up and down. The mast was not going down all the way; the last segment stayed up.

I pulled the top nut and turned on the ignition and the antena popped out as expected. I fed the new mast in and shut off the car and the mast pulled down but it only went down part way, leaving the last segment again. I tried this several times with no change.

The only other piece of info I have is; the mast used to work correctly and the radio code needs to be set. I had to pull the battery and I can't locate the radio code right now.

 

 

Thanks rspi. I guess there must be a piece of the old antena in the motor. I'll be looking at that this next week.

Hopefully I get the radio code addressed. I found an item where you can send you r vin info and get the code. I didn;t have the VIN handy at the time. Thanks for hte info.
