Default Blinking battery indicator light

Does anyone have any ideas on a blinking battery idicator light. If you follow my "Starter issue" threat you can see all the crap I've gone through thus far. Bottom line and to be brief....

The battery is a bout 2 months old. It was on a charger all night so I know it is pretty much charged. Just rulling stuff out. Car starts no problem on the battery. Lights are strong

The battery warning indicator light is blinking, it is not on solid.

The alternator is spinning in the correct direction.

When I measure voltage on the battery I had 18 volts after 5 minutes; where it started it was at 16 or so volts. On another car my meter was reading 20.2 volts when the engine is running - I'm quite confident the other car works without any issues; believe me it would tell me if something was wrong. Yes, time for a new VOM.

The only other thing I notice is the climate control lights are blinking. I attribute this to bypassing the A/C compressor. The compressor pulley bearing is seized and I am bypassing that pulley to run the engine.

Any ideas?

The car is a 2000 S70 with about 140k.

Sorry, I should have included that in in the message..

I can report that the problem appears to be resolved. I took the car for a ride around the neighborhood for a while and somewhere along the way the light quit blinking at me. I think maybe the blinking light is an indicator that voltage levels are low.

I would expect this since I have very little belt contact with the configuration I have.

Good, maybe it will stay off till you get the ac fixed and a new belt on. It may have been flashing because of when you had it routed differently.
