Default blower fan or resistor???

my blower stopped working a few days ago...it started up again with an odd noise...today it is just fine. the same thing happened about 4 years ago, i never had it fixed and it was fine. if i get the resistor replaced should that take care of the problem? i don't want to do more than i have to on a 10 year old car.

i just went thru my old paperwork and found that in 2004 the code edd 433 was found, they said the blower failed...it was working until the other day and now working again...thinking its the resistor that needs to be replaced.

Sorry to say but both should be replaced. It usually starts as a blower motor pulling to many amps. But over time when you do not get it fixed it burns up the resistor.

You can try that but might have the resistor give out shortly.
