brake dust
2000 S70 turbo, there seems to be a lot of brake dust on my wheels, is this normal with volvo brakes or has previous owner replaced the pads with cheap auto zone pads?
I have a 99 S70 T-5, (only 86K miles), and the front wheels always seem to have a ton of brake dust after a 'bath,' and about a week of driving - I've had her nearly 3 years, and I figure I am about due to replace them since up to now, there hasn't been any squeal......now there is...........any thoughts on good pads, w/o going to the dealer? Thanks!
I was thinking of buying wagner pads from o-rileys, anyone know if wagner makes pads for volvos? If they do, anyone tried them, I have had real good luck with them on my other vehicles
Volvos ARE phenomenal brake dust producers!
Best product I;ve found is "Armour All Wheel Protectant".
Really clean the wheels first and it works great. I had mine off once and treated the inside also.
I am not a big fan of Armour All but this product is pretty good.
FWIW, your rotors are only slightly harder than a Belgium waffle. You really should replace them when you replace the pads.

www.IpdUSA.com has a set of pads that give off less brake dust. They brake just as well as oem's. Try that but remember, wheels & tires are on the ground, they will only stay so clean.
