I own 2 Volvo's, 2002 S60 2.4L GLT, 2000 S70 2.4L SE. Both in general are great cars, I love everything about them.

Lately in the S70 I'm having a problem - it feels like the car start with 2nd gear most of the time, slow and powerless until the speed and RPM fits the one that should match 2nd gear and than it's moving ok. If it starts with the 1st gear which does happen sometimes, after a few seconds the gears start to go up and down regardless to my speed and RPM and it feels like the transmission is going crazy. That also sometimes happen while just cruizing at normal speeds when suddenly the gear go up or down with a 'kick' feeling that just shake the whole car....

Another helpful information is that when I click the O/D button to disable it or when I click the snow one (which should set launch in 2nd gear), nothing happens... no indication lights, no change in driving.

Helppppp I don't even know where to start... sensors went crazy? the computer went nuts? (is there a separate one for the transmission and the engine?) the transmission decided that it had enough with it's current life? I just don't know...

Not sure why it is starting in 2nd gear. Maybe you have a bad switch or something.

As for the hard shifting, sounds like your lower torque (transmission) mount is bad/weak. You can get one and change it in 10 minutes, just 3 bolts.
