Default Dash is lit up like a christmas tree!

Hey guys,
This is my first tech post and I have searched and found good info, but I'd like to talk about my specific situation.

The ABS, Brake, TC and Check Engine light lit up on my instrument cluster. I've scanned it and the only code it had was a P0600 BUS line communication error. The speedometer will intermittantly stop working when the brake/ABS light come on and start working again when they go off. I see no real pattern with the on/off of the lights, but the lights and speedometer may come on and off 4-5 times in a 10 mile drive, sometimes less. The check engine light seems to stay on constantly unless I clear it off.

Does this sound like a ABS module fault or could it be the speed sensor?

Ok, I'll do that. I'm going to check both voltage and any connection issues, but have you seen one more prevelant than the other cause this issue?

Did it look something like my dash here?

My lights were flickering on and off like this seemingly at random.
First thing I did was check the battery and it's connections, which were fine.
It ended up being my alternator starting to go out.

Make sure to read the voltage when the lights are all lit up like that. If the lights are all off (like they should be normally) when you check the voltage it will read like everything is fine.

My lights were flickering on and off when I was on my way to Seattle so I pulled into Schucks to test the battery and alternator. When I pulled in, all the lights all went off like normal and the voltage read normal.

I'm with Matt even though he has a tune and his tack is under 4k.

The alternator is always charging (should be). Voltage is just redirected. Think like a plumber.

it's your ABS module. those are the exact symptoms.

drive down the road at 35 mph. out car in neutral while going down the road. Turn the key of the "ACC" position then to the "on" position three times within about 5 seconds. restart engine while still coasting down the road.

This is the last thing you should try if clearing codes, a new battery, and hard battery reset do not work.

turning the car off like that going down the road resets the ABS module.
