Did you hook up a code reader? Sometimes the cel is slow to come on or blown.

mechanic friend also said coil, but with out cel, only way to tell which one is to replace one at a time. I did smell fuel, while at idle, like unburned fuel coming out of exhaust.

check connections first..

i had 3 coils go in the past 2 months, the first coil was completely dead and a code popped up right when it went bad but for the other 2 it would only miss at about 3,000 rpm's and for one it took about 2 weeks for a code to show and the other one never even gave a code..

kinda sucks because it would be nice to know what cylinder is missing..

check connections everything was fine, except a lot of the plastic loom over the wires going to the coils, is broke and missing. anyway started car up to to giggles wires to make sure none were broke or grounding out, didn`t find anything but the good news the cel came on, so now I can find out which coil is bad.

Well that's good! some people say its better to replace them off its they are old getting old but then it also runs about $250 haha..

but my last one that went out, i replaced it with IPD's HD coil.. "supposedly" give a better spark? haha
