Leave the base system in tact and use a high flow muffler in the back.

What Tony said if you're just looking for sound. If your car is a turbo, get a turbo- back system, the one from IPD is the best, but expensive. The OBX systems are okay, as well. They use larger diameter pipe and a high- flow muffler. Both include a pipe that you can, and should, replace with a high- flow cat. Exhaust alone on a turbo car is good for lowering restriction, but where it'll really help out is if you eventually get a tune for your ECU. If it's not a turbo, there's not a whole lot that can be done for performance.

can I use a universal fit down pipe ( $60.00) and have the additional pipe welded onto that? I've used a universal down pipe on my integra and had my exhaust guy just weld the extended part going to the cat area. Wanted to run it to a high flow cat then back to an exhaust. I noticed like a baffle system at the mid point of the stock down pipe but didnt notice any sensors attached to it. Can I run a custom down pipe? Thanks guys

Eurosport: Eurosport Tuning: EuroSport Stainless Cat Back Sport Exhaust System - Turbo FWD Models has a cat-back system for $479.00. Then you can find out how much a custom downpipe will cost from your local muffler shop.

Hope I helped
