Default Gear Indicator Light

I brought my 2000 S70 (Non-Turbo) to Turner Volvo in Sacramento for a transmission flushing then the gear shift indicator light starts working intermmittently.

The service gal informed us conclusively that the light bulb needs to be replaced. I mentioned to her that if the bulb went out it should not work at all. She realized I have a good point so she is now pointing it the bulb socket.

I am not ruling out coincidence but is there a possibility that during the flushing something got bumped or re-installed the negative ground wireby accident.Any thoughts?

Any information will be highly appreciated. Thanks.

Coincidence is what I would call it.

The bulb hangs upward on its socket and may have come loose. Remove the shift console and check.
