2000 s70 turbo, some times when I start it, it stops cranking, then continues to crank until the engine starts, its like it hits a cylinder with very high compression, gets past it then starts the car. Do I have a weak starter or what?

Bad starter motor and/or flywheel.

 

yep it was the starter, cost $270 installed
