INFO KNOB REPAIR
just thought i'd post this.
my info **** was acting up, so i took a look at it to see what the problem was. turns out, there were some bent prongs, and i was able to fix it.
1) completely disassemble the housing. be careful, a spring will pop out.
2) on the back side of the **** itself, there are some metal prongs that stick off of the ****
3) from years of use, these will bend, and eventually cross over one-another. this is the reason for the **** not working.
4) straighten them out. by pulling them all out about 1mm, they will have better contact with the circuit board.
5) make sure none of them are touching eachother
6) reassemble the housing. the spring goes to the reset button, there is a square hole that it goes down in. make sure the **** is in the same position that it was when you took it out.
7) plug it back in and enjoy! hope it works for you too. if not, sorry you have to spend the money.
