Unhappy Instructions for the S70 PCV System repairs...

My S70 is blowing smoke out the dipstick like a steem engine. It popped the oil dip stick and blew about a quart of oil all over the place.

I find all kind of post for the 850 but have not seen any for the S70... Does anyone know a thread for this one or can anyone point me in the right direction?

It's basically the same for the '98 S70. Same engine, and everything. 99 and up turbo are a little different, because of the different intake manifold.

Likely a different kit because of the different engine? Well, just checked the iPd site, same part number for the complete kit.

Ok, I guess this one is in worse shape than my 850 since my 850 is not blowing oil all over the place.

So, do I install the entire kit? Or can I just replace the Oil Separator Box?

I would do the kit just to be safe and not have to do the job twice.

How important is it to use a torque wrench on the manifold gasket?

Got it all done, WOW! Took me about 8 hours, looking for tools and all. Actual work was more like 6 hours. Yes, I'm a slow worker, especially the 1st time around.

I may post some instructions later, a few things were a little different for the S70 than the 850 but the 850 instructions worked well.

Does it matter which tube connects to the top of the Oil Trap??? The pics on FTP & IPD shows the tube fron the spark plug area connecting to the forward connection but on the car, the tube that wraped around the engine was connected to the forward one???

Well, I kept it as it was, with the forward opening going around the engine.

When all was said and done, it still smokes a little. It has not poped the dipstick again so that is good. I'll check it again in 500 miles to see if it is still smoking. Maybe some residual.
