Default Leaking around thermostat housing

there is a slight leak of coolant(now turned to whitish stuff) around my thermostat housing? is that just the gasket that needs replacing?
I changed the thermostat myself about a year ago and I am not sure why this would happen.

thank you

I had the same thing on a 960 and it was the rubber gasket on the edge of the thermostat. Did you change that when you did the thermostat? It should cost like $1.30.

you know I believe it came with my thermostat when I bought it at the Volvo dealer OR I am pretty sure I bought it with the thermostat because it was cheap and it made sense to change it. Maybe I put it in bad?
If that is what is most likely the problem though I am willing to just grab a seal and change it again to make sure.

Either the gasket or you have a cracked housing

Yes, the actual rubber gasket that goes around the t-stat seals the deal.
