My volvo s70 Starts and dies need help!!!
Hello!
I have 1999 S70 with 188xxx miles on it; I recently had throttle issues with it, I took it to the dealer ship got it reprogrammed and it works fine i also got one ignition coil replaced; The car ran well for a week and now when i start it ; it starts and dies back. it takes me a few tries and then it starts back on. I would really appreciate if any one had any legit idea or information on it.
I dont want to take it back to the dealer and spend a fortune again, Unless it is necessary.

When I had this problem the first thing I changed was the fuel pump relay, it is in the fuse box up by the windshield it is pink and has 103 stamped on it, you can get it at NAPA or order it on line at groton, that worked for me for awhile, than this spring same thing happened and a new relay did not fix it, so I bought an new immoblizer ring, it is in the steering column, and sits around the ignition switch, very easy to replace. fixed the problem

when you try to start the car the fuel pump will turn on. When it fails to start the fuel pump should continue to pump gas for about 3 seconds. So, when you try to start, and let go of the key, you should hear the fuel pump whine for about 3 seconds. If you don't hear that your pump is likely not working. The fuel pump relay usually goes out more than the actually pump.
MAF = Mass Air Flow Meter.
