Exclamation Need help on exhaust for 98' Volvo S70 T5

I have a 1998 Volvo S70 T5 2.3 High Pressured Turbo. All I have done as of right now is just a K&N Air Filter and my boost at about 15/16 psi. I want to go get a full exhaust system, I was "thinking" of getting 3 inch down-pipe into 2.5 inch straight pipe and eliminate the cat with a flange, and Magnaflow muffler. That's just my thoughts as of reading a few forums, any recommendations or any one with the same car? Thank you!

Hi Little Monster and welcome to the forum.

You may want to read a few mod threads.

go 3 inch all the way. reducing down will choke the turbo because of too little flow. Go round body straight through muffler. Shop around there are better mufflers out there than Magnaflow.

Ordered my K&N today for $35 and free shipping off of Ebay right off the K&N store. Picked up the filter service kit for an extra $10.

My biggest fear in tinkering with the exhaust is not liking the end result sound of it. I dont want to sound like one of those annoying Honda Civics you hear going down the road.

Agree on that, it will sound like a European car..jeje I guess ill be the first to delete the cat converter since no one has relied on removing it.
