Hey fellow Volvo owners I was wonder how much the stock n/a rods can really handle. I've searched around for about a week now and still couldn't find anything. The one thing I did find that it is pointless to boost the non turbo s70. This may sound silly and probably is but for say could the stock rods handle even a 50 shot every once in a while? I have a nice nitrous express wet kit I am wanting to use but fear of the rods not being able to take it. This is why I am asking on here. Please don't be rude like the people on volvospeed. I just simply want some opinions that's all thank you for your time.

 

By the lack of responses, it seems that you are asking a question that no one has tested or knows the answer to. So, please feel free to give it a shot and let us know the results.

I have ZERO experience with MODS or performance things on these cars, however, from what I have read, you don't want that shot to happen at low RPM's. So, time it to come in at 3,500 rpms or higher.
