Default Oil Burn Rate?

Hi Guy's need some help?

I have a 98 S70 T-5 5 speed 164,000 miles, I am burning about of 1 quart of 10w-40 Royal Purple Motor Oil just about every 5000 miles. Is this a normal rate for these car's? I get great fuel mileage about 24mpg city and 32mpg Highway, also passed California smog check with flying colors... Thanks for any help.

Seems normal, I think an oil change should be done every 5000 miles on this car. I do mine every 3000km with regular Castrol GTX oil.

I think I read a statement from volvo that 1 quart over 5k miles is acceptable.

I was just wondering what's a normal oil change for N/A models for both synthetic and mineral oil?

Wow, guess I'm lucky - less than 1/2 quart per 5000 miles on my '98 GLT (190K).

However, I have a lightbulb burn out (always different) every 2,000 miles.
