i have a 1998 S70 and my passenger side door lock is stuck and i can't get it to unlock. The door won't open from either side. I'd like to not damage my interior door panel to access the latch. What can i do?

 

Have you tried to remove the door panel? You will probably have to take the seat out first. Before you do that, disconnect the battery for 30 minutes to avoid setting off the SRS light and by all means, be carefull not to set off the seat airbag.

 

i was able to pull the top of the door panel out far enough to get a screwdriver into the lock mechanism and got it unlocked. turned out the cable from the interior door handle had come out of its groove and unhooked some plastic arms on the lock. successfully fixed with minimal tool-mark damages.
