Unhappy Please help me save $$ :)

K so early this week i turned my car on and the 'arrow' gear light was flashing and the check engine light came on.. i turned off the car and checked a few mins later and just the check engine light was showing and the others light was not flashing or on..

i took it down to get it checked out and i guess accelator possition sensor (throttle possition sensor?) is going out and the gear selector switch is going out..

The TPS was priced at $255 parts/labor and the gear selector switch is $390 parts/labor..

I have been reading up but can't find much on how to replace/fix them.. does anyone know or have done these repairs and can offer some help or just any knowlage on the two repairs..

also the car seems to be driving fine! is it something that will be fine for awhile and then go out.. is it something that i need to worry about?

Please any help would be great!! just need some info on what i should go about doing

You can get the switch on fcp groton for $90 and i dont think its hard to replace it, just gonna have to take your center where gear selector part out. About your TPS, they gotta be programed by volvo dealer if you get a new one. And they are not cheap.

Well the guy quoted me 255 for the tps... But he wrote acc position sensor was thinking he ment tps.. Is it the same thing? And where would be the best place to find a write on on instructions for the gear selector if there is any?

The proper name is neutral safety switch for your gear selector. This is why arrow light comes on and check engine light. http://www.ipdusa.com/Volvo-S70V70-1...-128-374-4615/
Ill keep looking for write up but probably best for you to get a Haynes repair manual for s70/v70. I think i paid $15 when i got one.
