Default Powersteering Volvo S70

Hello,
My S70 power steering has a leak in the pump (confirmed by having it flushed). It steered like butter for a day or two, but the fluid leaked out and now it steers like a bear.

I will eventually get it replaced, but am going to wait until the winter (I like in Burlington, Vermont so I don't want to go through the winter without power steering, especially in a heavy car).

Am I going to do any harm to my vehicle by not replacing the pump sooner?

Any thoughts on a ball park figure for a power steering pump replacment? Any chance it could be a line or something other than the pump?

Thanks,
Ryan Heaslip
