Default Replacing SRS Crash Sensor: DIY or not?

Hi,
I have been reading the forum for a long time and finally joined it.
I am amazed at the vast amount of knowledge that members are happy to pass along. Thanks. I have used many of the advices.

Now, my first question: My 1998 S70 T5 (116K) had recently turned the SRS light turn ON. The Volvo dealer diagnosed it (for a mere $115) and determined that the Crash Sensor needs to be replaced ($1,002.19) . They were nice enough to give the part number 9459151. I have found several of these units used in ebay anywhere from $15 to $30.

I understand that some programming is needed when replacing these units. I am pretty handy with tools and electrical parts (my real job involves troubleshooting PLCs and VFDs in large equipment control panels), so the questions is: Is this a doable job for a weekend mechanic. I know about (-) of the battery, own several multimeter to check continuity, Ohms, and voltages, etc, and I am very patient.

How do I go about the software programming?

Thanks so much in advance.
