Rough idle, white smoke, BAD Smell

RE: Rough idle, white smoke, BAD Smell
Tech,
Can you give me a ballpark on what this might run? Like I said, I have a longstanding relationship with this dealer....they've always taken care of me but I'm sure this won't be cheap. They even sold me the coil packs for $50 since I bought 5....I thought that was a good price. On a happier note, they are giving me full credit for the coil packs.

Yes they are really nice there.
It is pretty expensive. It is pretty much a headgasket job with the price of the Valves added.
Not to sure Dealer prices.
I think ours is like $1500.00 to $2000.00 or somewhere like that.
But you need to verify with a compression test first to make sure it isn't a bad injector.

OUCH,
Thanks for all your help. I'll keep you posted on what they find. If it is a burnt valve, should I be doing anything else while it's torn apart....maintenance or performance wise? I notice the Mustang pic in your sig. I'm a Ford guy myself (my toy is 1994 Lightning) I decided to give the Volvo a try since my Ford dealer is also the Volvo dealer....right now I'm obviously regretting it. I've never had anything like this happen on one of my Fords, especially on something with this few miles. Maybe I just got a bad car.

I think you just got a bad one.
The white one in my pic below the post has 220,000 miles on it right now.
The Yellow one has about 110,000 on it. They are usually pretty good cars.
Yes the Mustang pic is of my 87 5.0 Coupe.
It is in the Garage waiting for the engine to be pulled and a few things installed.
I have to convert from a Flat tappet Non-Ho motor to a roller Ho motor.

....But before I do...just to be clear, I replaced just the one coil pack on the plug that was severely fouled. I was reading another thread in which you said to inspect for hairline cracks.
I noticed that all 5 coil packs have a hairline crack. A couple have 2 or 3 cracks. Could this be it? What confuses me is my car was running fine, then it was started up three hours later and would hardly run at all.
Also, during a local search for the coil packs, one dealer asked why I wanted all five. He said that he has never replaced all five at once and he thinks I'm crazy for trying it.
I trust your judgement as many people on the board here do (especially since you're diagnosing online...not easy) If this ends up not being the issue, where do I go from here?
Thanks,
Drew

I have a C70 same problem everything that you listed I had codes po237 po236 p0455 po335 and the service engine light and check engine light were on.
Then I replaced the turbo charger boost pressure valve, manifold pressure sensor, map sensor, crankshaft sensor the cam sensor, spark plugs, ignition coil. I just ran the car for over 30 minutes,. Cold the car has no white exhaust smoke, No service lights or check engine light but once it heats up lots of white smoke and service light on but not constant. the light went out aft I rev the engine. All levels were fine, oil and coolant were fine. I did notice a small faint smoke coming from the back part of the engine not where I could see.
I ordered the blown head gasket tester kit and plan to test tomorrow.
