I'm about to go check out a '99 with 117,000 miles. It looks gorgeous - perfect paint, clean interior, etc. Will check under the hood and test drive tomorrow. What areas should I look at and listen to real carefully?

MY '99 was first year for ETM (electronic throttle module; i.e. drive by wire); fyi.

 

If you are not extreamly mechanically inclined, have the car inspected by a car inspector, they will know what to check. Also ask for service records and make sure it does not have a salvaged title. If so, it effects the value a little.
