New to forums but wanted ask if anyone knows my problem with my car. I have a 1999 Volvo S70 base model and every time i accelerate it looses all power and dosnt go or it surges then dosnt want to go any faster when I hit the accelerator. I have checked all vacuum lines the MAF sensor is working the throttle is working. I also took it to the vovlo dealership and they couldnt find anything wrong with it after hooking it up and test drove it twice once i got in it a few hours later it started doing the problem. The check engine light isnt showing any faults going on and i hear nothing abnormal coming from the engine usually the check engine light tells you whats wrong to a degree but it dosnt seem to think anything is wrong. Any help would be appricated thank you for reading the post.

Does it seem as if it's running out of gas? It may be a fuel pump related problem if it's not tossing a code.

How often does it happen? Every day? If I were you I would toss a fuel pump relay at it unless one has been replaced within the past few years.

 

I havnt installed a fuel pump relay yet I did install a new fuel pump ill defenitly look into the relay and see whats going on with it. Dosnt seem to be running out of gas and it happens intermittently like if i get onto the highway or just try and floor it then it starts surging but if i dont floor it and ease into it it seems to not have the issue.

 

I put a new relay on and its still doing the same thing it seems like the throttle is sticking is that the ETM or speed control sensor.
