Default S70 turbo installation question

Hey i have a 99 S70 base and i was wondering if its at all worth putting a turbo into it. If anyone has a price idea if I were to do it myself that would be great. And also, where could i find a used one? thanks.

sure its worth it, if you've got $3k to $5k burning a whole in your pocket.
its way better to buy a factory turbocharged engine.

Welcome to the forum.

1. It is possible.

2. You'll put more money into it then the car is worth.

3. Sell your base model and buy a turbo model and mod it from there.

4. You can't just slap a turbo on there and have boost. There are other things you need. For example...

-Turbo
-Downpipe
-Catback system
-Intercooler
-Intercooler hard pipes
-Turbo hoses
-Vacuum lines
-Oil or water lines for the turbo
-Boost gauge
-Possibly bigger injectors
-Most importantly a good ECU tune. Which is going to be pricey and to get the best tune you'll want to dyno tune it which will take hours and a lot of money.
-Etc...

Your looking at spending a good $5,000+ to get it right.
