Shifting

Shifting
I have a 1998 V70 GLT and I am having a problem shifting the car out of park. I did research on the net and on this site and almost everyone was saying that their microswitch had to be replaced. Since it was 14 bucks I went ahead and replaced the switch, unfortunatly it did not fix my problem. It all started when my wife had a very minor accadent, the right front headlight and turn signal assembly had to be replaced. After that I have had to push the over ride switch to shift the car out of park. I am also still having a problem with my turn signal, I am not sure if it's related but if it is please see my post here: https://volvoforums.com/m_34275/tm.htm
I did try testing the voltage at the switch to see if any electricity was coming through, unfortunatly I didn't see any thing appear when I would press the break. If anyone has any ideas please let me know.

RE: Shifting
I just confirmed that the switch is bad. I connected the red wire that had +12v to the green wire that connects to the microswitch. The piston moved allowing me to shift the car. Now I just have to research where I can get that part or see how much my volvo dealer will rape me for it. Thanks for your help, I am glad you are here to confirm my theorys.

RE: Shifting
So I found that most place's online sell the part for about 33 dollars plus 5 dollars for shipping. Or I could go down to my local volvo dealer and get the part for 38 dollars plus tax. So I did that and got the part in tonight and I am still having the same problem. Although I am still able to jump the wires to get the piston to move I can't apply the brake to be able to shift. So back to the drawing board, anyone have some ideas?

RE: Shifting
Do you have a wiring diagram for it?
If not click on link and see if it will help.

RE: Shifting
Ok, So I backtrack in the diagram and here is what I see starting at the piston it goes to the microswitch, then to the brake switch. It then goes to 15I Rail and then to a relay and then to the ignition switch. My question is where do I find the colors for these wires so that I can track them down to make sure these are working and also where do I find the 15I Rail and the relay?
Seeing that this could be leading to a related problem I am going to include my other problem that I am working on as well.
About 4 years ago I installed an after market remote starter security system. The thing worked great, I could start my car in the summer and have the AC on to cool down the car before I got into it or warmed it up in the winter before I left my desk at work. About 2 years after I installed it the AC stopped working with the security system and then my wife dropped the FM transmitter to many times and broke that. So I have a new model made by the same company and I am still not able to turn on the Accessories with out putting the key into the ignition. The car starts up just fine and detects doors open, shock sensor and all, just the Accessories don't work with the security system.
I have talked with the manufacturer of the security system and they suggested using a relay since there is 2 accessory wires. Unfortunatly that didn't fix it, everything still works the same way with the relay installed. So could this be a hidden fuse problem or a bad relay problem? The only relay from the security system that I have installed (ever) is this new one last night to try to address this issue. In theory I could see how it could be a possible problem with a factory relay someplace but that's just my own theory.
