Default Sun Visor & Service Light

Where does the driver's side visor unplug?

I picked one up from a T5 that has homelink built into it. In the junkyard I just cut the wire after pulling a good 12-18 inches of it out of the A pillar. There was no plug to be found.

I will just splice it but I am curious to know where it ends.

The service light is also acting strange. I just did an engine swap and the check engine light went away on its own. The service light comes on when you start the engine but goes out an never comes back after driving about a half mile. If you stop the engine and restart it does the same thing.

I tried the reset hack where you turn the key to run and hold the ODO reset button but I could not get the service light to flash and go out for the reset.

As a side note I LOVE how the car is smoking by burning off the oil coating the inside of the exhuast system. The owner of the car blew the head gasket and sprayed oil everywhere. The new engine does not smoke at all until the exhuast gets hot. People in other cars never tailgate and just get out from behind me completely. I figure this will last only a few more days since the smoking is going away; it only smokes about half as badly as it did the day I put the new engine in.

If there was a switch I could rig to make it smoke on demand to get people off of the back bumper I would do it to all of my cars.

Is your car a 98? if so, the service light can only be switched off with a special tool or a Volvo scanner. It is designed to only come on for 2 minutes each time the car is started, then go out.

Only pre-'98's can do the reset trick.

Nope... other way around. 99 and up can do the reset trick. Basically, you hold the trip meter button in, then, while holding it, turn the ignition to on, but don't start the car. Continue holding the button until the service light flashes, then release. This can take up to 30 seconds.

98 can't do it at all, neither can most 850s, with the exception of 850s that have the Yazaki instrument cluster. Those have a reset button under a rubber plug on the cluster. If you have a 98 S/V70, or an 850 with the VDO cluster, you have to use the special tool or a Volvo scanner.
