My 04 s80 AWD came stock with HID's. They're good looking lights but visiblity at night is very poor with them. It seems like they're are aimed down to low, I have to drive full time with the high beams on to get a good view of whats ahead of me on a dark night.

Is it the Bulbs or something else that is causing this, I would assume I'm not the only one with these problems.

 

I agree as I too have a 2004 S80 Turbo with stock Xenons (HID) headlights. I have owned this car for over 3 years. As soon as I took the car out at night I thought the lights were too low and the light beam just seemed to end way too close to the vehicle. Took it to the dealer and they stated that the HIDs are auto leveling. I told them to adjust the auto leveler a little higher. Impossible they said. They did replace a "sensor" under warranty but it did little or nothing to solve the problem. Now I am out of warranty and stuck with the pretty white headlights that abruptly end in the night sky. Oh well.

Driving in the city it is not that much of a problem. But take it in the rural areas and the brights are a must.

 

Glad it's not just me having this problem, I wonder if it's the bulbs or if the whole headlight housing is just aimed too low.
