I've been lurking on here for a week or so looking for an answer. I have a 2004 S80 t6 that is throwing the "brake failure stop safely" and ABS warnings. It's nothing in the wheels or sensors as they were just checked. The mechanic said it was the ABS module.
Three questions:
1. Can this year module be rebuilt? If so by who?
2. Where is the module located and how do I get to it?
3. Can I drive the car with the ABS module out?

I have the same issue, and from reading these threads I have found this website recommended by a few people. I called them today and they seem to know what is up.

I used xemodex 3 weeks ago to repair my S80 ABS module. It was relatively easy to remove the module. Sent it to xemodex via their preprinted mailing label. Drove around for a week without the module. It came back within a week. I reinstalled it (note you have to open the wiring harness's connector then insert the wiring harness into the module and then close the connector plastic tab to lock the wiring harness back into the module snugly. I fussed a little with the harness before realizing it needed to be opened first and then insert the wiring harness and then close) and it works great. no more brake failure warnings. Everything works fine including cruise control.
