We just recently bought our first Volvo, a 2000 S80. So far we love it! We are having one problem that we can't seem to pinpoint and I am hoping someone can direct us. When we first drive the car in the morning there is a noise coming from either the engine compartment or the front end somewhere, clunking/banging/flapping noise, in no particular order, seems to be coming from the LH drivers side, when you go over a bumb or slight curve or even on smooth road, for about 5-10 min. afterwards it all goes away until the next morning. Has anyone had any experience with this?

Maybe bad spring seat or swaybar link.

 

If it not the spring seat or sway bar link(both easy checks for a DIYer)It could be that an extra o-ring needs to be added around the rear sub-frame bolt (not so easy).

 

ok, update to our problem, upon further inspection realized the upper strut bushing (spring seat)was shot, replaced it in my drive way and everything is back to normal again....thanks for the responses.
