2001 S80 2.9....my tranny has several issues, however I want to know if there is a simplier (less expensive fix). First off, the car is informing me in the message box "tranmission service urgent" and it has these issues: It will rev high and drop into gear generally for each shift. Or it will just rev high and not drop (I believe from only 3-4 or 4 to 5) whichever is the last gear for the transmission. However...if I turn the car off and turn it back on ...many times the issue stops for a while. Also, when i am at stop lights the car will rev really high and i will go slow...but it will eventually get up to speed and shift.


Here is the question: is it possible this can be fixed by just replacing the tranny sensor or do I need an entire transmission? Also, if I just drive as is will this affect anything else on the car...other than the horrible gas mileage I am getting?
