I have a volvo s80 t6 2001. I want to know if anyone can tell me what would cause the metal cap/plug on the valve cover to pop out.
I was driving. Stopped the car went into the store. Car started right back up. Drove down the road about a quarter mile and the car died. Stopped the car and started the engine. There was a rough idle then I put the car in gear drive about 30 40 feet and the car cuts out again. I do this a couple times then pull into a parking lot. I let the car sit for about 5 minutes. Start it up and let it run for about two minutes. The idle had stabled out somewhat. So I was able to drive it home. I noticed when I got close to home a large amount of smoke coming out of engine compartment. When I got home I popped the hood and that is when I noticed that cap being gone.
