Default 2001 s80 T6

Need to replace brake booster. can this been done by a do it yourselfer or is a dealer recommended? Thankss

I was told that I would have to take the car to the dealer becaause of the ABS ands the computer would need to reset the ABS module. Tthis did not make sense to me. Also the s80 T6 has STC so I need the booster that has DSTC correct?

Nothing needs to be reset.
Yes you need a DSTC booster.

I bet you to take the car to the dealer. But if in case you'll decided to do it by yourself, first make sure that you are removing the four nuts that secure the booster. When you are sure you have the brake booster completely free, go ahead and yank on it from the other side of the firewall. If it doesn't come out easily, you've removed one of the wrong nuts.
