I have a loud creaking sound coming from the right front suspension area that is louder during cold weather and happens when going over a speed bump slowly or any bump in the road. My shop says everything looks fine so it may be an INTERNAL STRUT problem. Won't know until they get inside. Anyone ever have this problem?

 

Hi and Welcome to the forum. I moved your post to the S80 section so you can get some help with your issue.

The most common thing is the sway bar link ends. However, they usually sound like a baseball bouncing around in a metal bucket. If it sounds like an old wooden ship creaking, it's likely the spring seat.

 

+1 on spring seat - had creaking sounds as OP described and last fall had the spring seats, along with some other stuff that turned out to need replacing, fixed.

 

On bad roads they can last as little as a year or less.

The OEM ones lasted me about 3 years.

I installed IPDusa heavy duty ones about 18 months ago and they are still fine, not sure anyone elses experience with these vs OEM.
