Default 2002 S80 ABS module help

From what I have read my ABS module is bad. I have a 2002 S80 and from every source I have found (except 1) say they are not repairable, only 2001 and older are repairable.

Does anyone know if I could get a used one from like Pick-N-Pull and use that? or does it have to be coded by the dealer for the car? If it has to be done at the dealer, can they re-code a used one?

Here is list of sites I have found so far, although I know I have looked at more, I just don't remember them off hand.

BCM Order
says they can re-manufacture it for $450
Has anyone experience with this company to be reputable because this is a route I am considering if it can not be repaired.

Volvo ABS Problems
says not repairable

ModuleMaster rebuilds ABS modules for as low as $100, 2 day average turn-around, 5 Year Guarantee
says not repairable

A used part is going to fail just like the one that you have making the repair a complete waste of money.

Check with bba-reman.com and see what they can do for you.

I will need to pull my old module to get the part number for the site you suggested, but even with them it appears to be similar price to the one I listed above, although they seem to be in Europe and I am in the U.S.

Please define "it is going to fail just like the one that you have making the repair a complete waste of money."

Does this mean it will not work and I will still have the codes, or are you refering to being it is used and there are so many problems with these that it probably doesnt have much life left. This would actually be fine for me if the cost was not too much. My car is currently parked unable to drive ONLY because of this part because it will not pass smog because of the check engine light is on. Yes I would like to get it fixed properly, but right now my biggest concern is getting it to pass smog.

use a mirror to get your # off the module instead of taking it off.

Then order it from bba-reman - send your old one in after you do the replacement to get your core charge.
