2008 S80 T6 leaking oil from intake tube
I've got a 08 T6 S80 that I noticed leaking oil from the air intake pipe along the back side of the engine today when I was changing the engine oil. This air hose is the one that runs from the air cleaner box to the turbo inlet. This duct has a smaller hose attached to it coming from the top of the valve cover. I am assuming that this oil is coming from the intake vacuum sucking the oil vapor from the top side of the engine through the attached hose. Question for the forums are is this normal or is something else going on that I cant see. I plan to remove the intake air duct work and clean it, but I'm sure that the oil will accumulate again, so I need to find a way to stop it if possible. The car runs great and has 94K miles on it and has had the oil changed in it every 5K with Mobil 1 0w40.

I take it you are referring to the tube between the turbo and the intercooler or intercooler and engine.... a small amount of oil or film of oil is decently normal and is a result of the turbos/blowby and isnt too much to worry about. however if it is a substantial amount and or is causing the car to smoke (smells like burning rubber and white in color) chances are a turbo seal is blown and you should look into getting it rebuilt or replaced, yes this is an expensive repair but it will save the catilitic converters, electronic throttle and your driveway. expect a hefty bill of about 3k. I did the rebuild myself on one and it was terrible. unless you really know what you are doing take it in. It will save you a leaking mess and a massive headache
