Hi! I recently purchased a 2010 s80 T6. It has 118000 miles and I'm wondering when Volvo recommends changing the timing chain? Thanks for any help you might be able to give me!

I have that engine that is non-turbo. 2007 with 90K miles.
In the next couple of years I plan on replacing the chain tensioner and guides, but probably not the chain itself.
Not related, I also have a chevy v6 that has a chain. 215K with no issues.

 

If I'm am not mistaken the chain tensioner shouldnt have to be replaced.

 

It actually has a chain vs. a belt? Yes, if it is a chain - you don't ever replace it. Why would you think you should? Probably because you are used to having a car with a timing "belt", which is supposed to be replaced every 60,000 miles.
