Default AC only works on cold start

My AC will only work after the vehicle has been sitting for a long period of time, then the compressor clutch disengages after around 5 min of working normal. The 110 degree heat is coming so I have to fix it. When the compressor is running, the low pressure side is running at about 35psi. I don't have a gauge for the high pressure side.

Are there common electrical components that fail on this car?

It seems like the climate controls are all working, I can even notice the minor rpm adjustment when I turn on and off the AC switch.

I put some more freon in it. It cycles between 30-40psi and seems to stay on. What pressure should the low side be at?

The pressure usually stays close to that. But that does not mean it is full. It can read the right pressure but still be to low on freon.

The L\S pressure is relative to ambient temp too. Some gauges have a cheat sheet on the back of the pressure range the low side should be at at a certain ambient temp...

I topped off my system yesterday, it was probably about 60deg in the garage and the compressor kicked in around 25psi from memory. I still need to add more freon though....
