Sorry I wish I was closer to try to help you out.

I still wonder if anyone was ever into the timing belt area. Or maybe the belt jumped one tooth.

My car runs great, I am not sure how the belt could jump a tooth unless it was installed that way and I had it for almost a year before the light came on. Wouldn't it run like crap if it was off?

Each cam could be off one tooth and not affect the running of the car.

So if each cam was off by one tooth, why did it take so long for the light to come on and no it will not go out? Do you know how the CVVT works? Somehow this is supposed to adjust the camshaft position but there is no direct mechanical interface, all I see are a bunch of oil ports on it.

The VVT works by pressure through the little valve on the top of the Cam cover.

So could I have an oil pressure problem, like that o-ring thing you have posted?

I guess it could be possible.

Try to check the oil pressure.

OK I have done nothing but leave my car sitting for the last few months, but I still have my CVVT CEL on. I changed my ABS computer and every other code went away except for the P0011. I bought an Actron 9145 reader to reset the code and I have noticed the code only comes on about 30 seconds after I start the engine. Once I reset the code it will not come on no matter how long I drive the car, but once I restart it the code will come back. Any idea what kind of check my car is doing to trip this code?

If the VVT valve/Pulley is not 100% set properly it might throw the code.

First you have to try to find the Long walk through.

We all dread doing it. It is a Major Pain in the A**.

I would try to get it for you BUT our computer doesn't have a printer. Hell he doesn't even give us a Key board. Beside I don't have a scanner either.

It is the Cam pulley you will have to get setup.

I used Alldata to install the actuator but it did not mention any other procedure like setting the VVT valve, it just told me I just had to swap it out. Can I assume that the CVVT actuator and VVT valve are the same thing or is there some other mystery component hiding in my car I have not checked yet?

No other thing hiding. If you still have alldata or access to it look up for timing belt replacement or I think it is Headgasket replacement. Read through somewhere it will tell you how to reset the Cam gear when reinstalling it.

Hey,

I like how you changed all your led's to red, is that easy to do?

This thread has come to an end. My dealer changed the timing belt and guessed that it must have jumped a tooth all by itself. The belt did have 160,000 miles on it. However he noted that the CVVT valve looked new and tested OK and that really pissed me off because I did not know you could test the CVVT valve and the last time I took my car to the dealer they were going to charge me $375.00 to replace something that was working. If they had actually trouble shot the car the first time I would have just had the timing belt changed. Thanks for helping Tech, I know you did say that the belt must be off a tooth and it was.
