Default Car still creaks and moans... heres what ive replaced:

So the car for the past months has been making some weird noises. Creaks and moans as well as sounding like the struts were bad. Loud thuds. Also when backing out of spaces the wheels would shuter and feel like it was going to fall off.

Anyhow, I put on brand new control arms and bushings, with new ball joints and steering stops. Also have a new top motor torque mount. While the car was on jack stands I also checked the other bushings and such. All appeared ok. I did not find any grease fittings to lube.

The car is still creaking a bit when going over bumps.

What could be causing It? Do the subframe mounts go bad often? How about the bushing near the top of the strut tower. I'm having a hard time isolating the noise. Fixing the control arm definitely improved ride quality and MOST of the noise. Once the car is driven for about 10 miles and everything warms up from the friction It goes away.

This Is a 2000 2.9 with 133k miles

I thought I saw a TSB to repair the front bumper from making these type of sounds.
Sounds exactly like your issue by going over bumps. I saw it in www.alldatadiy.com.
Maybe this will fix your issue?

You know that sounds exactly like the problem. It sounds as if its coming from the strut tower so that would make sense. Are there seats on the top of the spring as well?

What's involved with that? Is It as simple as getting a spring compressor and compressing the spring while installed on the strut assembly? Or will I have to remove the strut/hub?

The strut comes out pretty easy. Then you compress the spring and take the top parts off. This is what you would replace.http://www.fcpgroton.com/product-exe...ategory_id/181
But you can test it first. There is a 13/16 nut on the top of the strut. Try turning it with the car on the ground. If it turns the spring seat is bad.

I had this same problem after replacing struts in our Honda Odyssey. The Springs were rubbing the seats and creaking like crazy. A little oil between the springs and the seats and its like a new car!
