Codes P1651 and P2178 - worth repairing?
Hello everyone,
I got my 2004 S80 2.5T a year ago with 75k miles on it, and put 10k miles since then. However, this car has been a headache from the beginning. I love the way it drives, but maybe it's because I'm just new to Volvo.
Anyway, the latest problems with the care are a check engine light with the codes: P1651 and P2178 system too rich off idle, and the charging outlet seems to keep burning its fuse every time I replace it. It just won't work. The last thing was that the car slowed down and started shaking telling me reduced engine performance when I was going cruise control on 50mph. Then the message "Engine system service urgent" appeared. I have a code reading app on my phone so I took pictures and erased the codes. However, the car drives fine everyday and the check engine light comes and goes. It stalls sometimes and maybe misfires.
I can't find anything useful about these codes online and I am too hesitant to put any more money into this car, which is why I have not taken it back to the mechanic. Below, is a list of work that was done on it since last year. Please any guidance on what the codes mean and whether it is worth repair will be much appreciated. Please note that I bought it used for $3500 and put about $1000 in repairs on it. Also if I keep it, I will new a new set of tires.
Thank you so much
